rpm -Uvh mpt-status-1.1.6-0.rh7.i386.rpm

You should now be able to run the mpt-status utility

/usr/sbin/mpt-status

You should see something similar to this :

mpt-status

ioc0 vol_id 0 type IM, 2 phy, 136 GB, state DEGRADED, flags ENABLED RESYNC_IN_PROGRESS
ioc0 phy 1 scsi_id 9 HITACHI HUC103014CSS600 H202, 136 GB, state ONLINE, flags NONE
ioc0 phy 0 scsi_id 1 HITACHI HUC103014CSS600 H202, 136 GB, state ONLINE, flags OUT_OF_SYNC

You can use this output to write a plugin for nagios. I will provide my nagios solution in a later post.
